"A San Vito di Leguzzano c’è ancora una località, sui colli, che viene chiamata ‹la cava di Michele›. La Fornasa Marmi è nata lì, tra quelle pietre, lo so perché abbiamo controllato nei registri della canonica... Sono passati decenni, le tecniche sono migliorate ma la nostra famiglia è sempre stata fedele a questa attività, senza ripensamenti”. Emilio Fornasa trasmette entusiasmo e affetto per le radici che avviluppano la storia del suo lavoro e della sua famiglia, tra casa e cava, figli, nipoti e masselli di marmo..."
La Fornasa Marmi inizia la propria attività verso la metà del 1800 eseguendo con i mezzi limitati di allora opere anche impegnative. Le due guerre mondiali danneggiano e limitano non poco le attività dei Fornasa che negli anni quaranta, trasferitisi da San Vito di Leguzzano a Thiene, trovano nuovi spazi di attività. Iniziano così la lavorazione di marmi sempre più pregiati fatti arrivare non più soltanto dall’Italia ma anche dall’estero, dei quali curano la trasformazione a partire dal blocco grezzo, spesso visionato già in cava, sino al prodotto finito. Propone quindi nell’ultimo ventennio alcuni pezzi di arredamento che presentati ad alcuni concorsi ed esposizioni ottengono prestigiosi riconoscimenti.

"In San Vito di Leguzzano there is still a place on the hillside, which is called quarry of Michele. The Fornasa Marmi was born there, among the stones, I know because we checked in the registers of the presbytery... It was passed decades, the techniques have improved, but our family has always been faithful to this task, without second thoughts. "Emilio Fornasa transmits enthusiasm and affection for the roots that envelop the story of his work and his family, including home and quarrying, children , grandchildren and blocks of marble ... "
The Marble Fornasa stars his business in mid-1800. He managed to create challenging works well with the few resources of the time. Because of two major World wars the Fornasa’s factory was damaged. So the company moved to San Vito of Leguzzano in Thiene. They begin the production of increasingly fine marble coming from Italy but also abroad. Fornasa cures the entire production process from raw block of marble to the finished product. Therefore proposed in the last two decades a few pieces of furniture that presented in some prestigious competitions and gained great recognition.
